An Bord Pleanala granted planning permission for the redevelopment of Tara Street Station on the 1st February 2010.
The redeveloped station will comprise a substantially enlarged 12 metre high passenger concourse area which will dramatically increase the passenger capacity of the station. Access to and from the new station will be afforded via the current George’s Quay entrance with additional entrances onto Tara Street and Poolbeg Street.
Office accommodation of circa 8,800m2 will be constructed directly above the new concourse, the centrepiece of which will be a landmark glazed tower rising to a height of 49.1 metres.
