The department provides IT & Telecoms services for the CIÉ Group; the Department has been in operation since 1968 with its offices located in Heuston Station. The role of the department is to provide the CIÉ Group with solid IT foundation support and develop Group Systems, manage integration between systems and set the standards on IT policy and Governance.
Group IT is one of the most geographically dispersed IT landscapes in Ireland. Group IT provides user and business support to Iarnród Éireann, Bus Átha Cliath, Bus Éireann, the CIÉ Holding Company and CIÉ Tours International.
Group IT provides shared services for the Operating Companies, these include:

Service Desk – An ITIL aligned Service desk providing a single point of contact for all Group IT Services.
