At the CIÉ Group we value our history and share our heritage by investing in and promoting protection of and access to our historic assets. As a long-standing provider of bus and rail transport, our archives show the key role played by the CIÉ Group companies in the history and development of the Irish state since 1945. Additionally, we hold the corporate records of almost a hundred historical transport companies that built the railway infrastructure of Ireland from the 1830s until the 1940s. We also own, maintain and provide access to numerous historical buildings throughout the country.

CIÉ Group Archives
The role of CIÉ Group Archives is to preserve and make available those records documenting the core functions of CIÉ, the CIÉ Group of Companies and their predecessor companies, that for legal, business continuity, and evidential reasons are to be preserved as archives.
Thanks to Ciarán Cooney, Kieran Marshall and Peter Rigney from the Irish Railway Record Society for their help in compiling these images.
